A local solar project powers the grid
As the project generates energy, your share of its output produces solar credits, feeding the same grid that serves Raritan Township.
Credits land on your JCP&L bill
Your solar credits and savings appear directly on the monthly JCP&L bill you already receive, lowering what you owe. There is no separate bill to manage.
Solar Simplified does not conduct door-to-door sales. If anyone approaches your home claiming to represent this program, please contact Solar Simplified at (888) 420-9831 or the Township to verify before sharing any information.
Open to renters and homeowners across Raritan Township.
If you're a JCP&L residential customer in Raritan Township, you can enroll and save a guaranteed 35% on every solar credit applied to your bill. You don't need to own your home, and nothing is installed at your property.
New Jersey requires that at least 51% of every community solar project's capacity be reserved for income-qualified households, based on the State's income guidelines. If your household may qualify, you're encouraged to enroll. Solar Simplified will confirm your eligibility as part of enrollment.
You may be income-qualified if…
- You participate in a government assistance program such as HEAP, SNAP, or HUD housing assistance.
- Your household income falls within New Jersey's qualifying income guidelines, even if you don't currently receive government assistance.
Many households are surprised to learn they qualify. You don't need to work this out yourself, since Solar Simplified confirms eligibility as part of enrollment. Call (888) 420-9831 if you'd like to check first.
What Raritan residents ask us most.
Do I need to install solar panels on my home?
No. No panels are installed at your home and no equipment is attached to your property. You're subscribing to a share of a local solar project, which is why renters can participate just as easily as homeowners.
What does it cost to join, and can I cancel?
Nothing. There are no enrollment fees, no upfront payments, no credit checks, and no long-term commitment. You can cancel at any time with no fees or penalties.
How does the billing work?
Everything happens on the JCP&L bill you already receive. Your solar credits and the cost of your subscription both appear on that one bill and net out automatically.
Your subscription is always priced below the value of the credits you receive, by 35%. The credits are always worth more than you are charged for them, and that difference is your savings. You will never receive a separate bill from Solar Simplified.
When will I start seeing savings?
Most customers begin seeing solar credits within two to three billing cycles. Actual timing varies based on your project placement, your billing schedule, and the project's energy production.
Does anything change about my JCP&L service?
No. You continue to receive service from JCP&L exactly as you do today, with no change to your utility or your reliability. Solar Simplified is not an alternative electricity supplier. Community solar is a state-approved program regulated by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, and participation is voluntary.
How do I know if I'm income-qualified?
New Jersey sets the income guidelines, and at least 51% of every project's capacity is reserved for households that meet them. Many households are surprised to learn they qualify. You don't need to work this out yourself, since Solar Simplified confirms eligibility as part of enrollment. Call (888) 420-9831 if you'd like to check first.
Does Solar Simplified sell door to door?
No. Solar Simplified does not conduct door-to-door sales. If someone comes to your home claiming to represent this program, do not share your account information. Contact us at (888) 420-9831 or contact the Township to verify first.
